Environmental Justice Advisory Group

Environmental Justice Strategy

The District Governing Board adopted the Environmental Justice Strategy on Aug. 16, 2007 and amended it on Feb. 18, 2010 and again on June 21, 2012. This comprehensive policy serves as a roadmap which will guide the District in integrating Environmental Justice principles and augmenting the steps already taken by the District in reaching out to the community.

The amended Environmental Justice Strategy is available in English and Spanish.

On Feb. 18, 2010, the District Governing Board adopted the Environmental Justice Advisory Group Bylaws. The bylaws require that EJAG establish goals and objectives, and an action plan with which to achieve those goals and objectives for each calendar year.

The EJAG will work to collaboratively educate the public and community stakeholders about current District activities and air quality in general, and will review overarching District programs and strategies to provide feedback.

For additional information on the policy, please contact the Deputy Clerk to the Boards at (559) 230-6000.

The District is currently seeking candidates to fill open positions for the Kern County seat (1) and ethnic small-business owners(2) on the 13-member Environmental Justice Advisory Group (EJAG). Interested individuals must submit an EJAG application.
