Public Transportation Subsidy and Park & Ride Lots

Program Overview

The District is currently accepting applications to provide public transportation pass subsidies, such as for rail and transit services, and for the construction of park-and-ride lots which connect commuters to alternative transportation measures.  Funding provided through this program is intended to encourage commuter rideshare activities as an alternative to single occupant vehicle commutes for daily long distance travel.  For more information about the program, please review the program guidelines.

Incentive

The eligible incentive amount will be determined using the most recent California Air Resources Board (ARB) calculation methodology for cost-effectiveness and emission reductions.  To view the ARB’s most recent methodology, please visit: http://www.arb.ca.gov/planning/tsaq/eval/eval.htm

The maximum incentive amounts for qualifying projects are:

Project Categories Maximum Incentives
Transit Bus Agency Up to $30,000 per agency
Shuttle Services Up to $6,000 per shuttle ($500/month)
Commuter Rail Services Up to $30,000 per agency
Park-and-Ride Lot Up to $150,000 per agency

Funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis until exhausted.

Eligibility

Funding for this program is limited to municipalities, government agencies, private companies and public educational institutions located within the boundaries of the District.
