Environmental Quality Incentives Program

How we help

The District has consistently prioritized equitable access to incentive funding for all Valley residents, businesses and stakeholders with a particular focus on traditionally under served communities, individuals and small businesses. Within the Agricultural Equipment Replacement Program, the District has long-recognized the particular challenges faced by small agricultural operations. The District was the first in the state to implement measures to assist small often disadvantaged, agricultural operations.

  • Launched an Agricultural Equipment Trade-Up component in 2019 that provided opportunities for small growers to trade up to cleaner equipment at a fraction of the cost of new equipment.
  • Increased eligible incentive amounts for Tractor and Certified Pre-Owned Equipment Replacement Programs
  • Provides an additional $400/acre for smaller growers looking to implement alternatives to open burning

Agricultural Tractor Replacement Program

Provides incentive to replace in-use, off-road tractors and mobile equipment used in agricultural operations.

Small Farmer Certified Pre-Owned Agricultural Equipment Pilot Program

Provides incentive to replace in-use, off-road tractors and mobile equipment used in agricultural operations with used equipment.

Ag Burn Alternatives Grant Program

Provides incentives for chipping or shredding agricultural material. The material must be used for soil incorporation or land application on agricultural land as an alternative to the open burning.
